The Most Joyful Season of All

The 2026 season brought us from coast to coast, popping up at ski resorts, on the shores of South Beach, and everywhere in between.

The Most Joyful Season of All

It’s hard to say goodbye to Sumo Season. From the first Sumo Citrus sighting in January to the last grocery haul in April, there are countless legendary moments in between.

This season, we sampled the legendary fruit in Miami Beach at the South Beach Wine & Food Festival presented by Capital One. We hit the slopes of the best ski resorts during our Joy Ride Tour. We met thousands of fans, and made some new friends, too. We launched a Sumo Citrus olive oil collaboration with Brightland, which sold out in mere weeks.

The sweetness continued online, where we connected with each other from coast to coast. We embraced JOMO (the Joy of Missing Out) with incredible recipe collections, challenged each other to peel the joy (in one piece, as fast as possible, and with mittens on) in the Joy Games, and had fun imagining a stackable product innovation on April Fool’s Day with the Sumo Citrus Square.

The goal of the 2026 season was to raise the collective joy and together, we delivered. But it’s the everyday moments that you capture and share with us that really fill our hearts.

We were so inspired by the generosity and thoughtfulness of Jasmine Martinez of @smallandfragileclub, who spent a morning hand-squeezing more Sumo Citrus than we can count and bottling fresh juice to accompany a breakfast delivery for her local firefighters. Nothing embodies the spirit of community more than sharing the taste of joy with those who protect and serve others.

Others expressed their creativity in the kitchen. After accidentally buying $100 worth of Sumo Citrus at the grocery store (#relatable), @ryannordheimer created a masterpiece of a feast for six friends with Sumo Citrus at the center of every dish. We’re talking chicken confit with leeks, citrus peel, and salsa verde, hasselback squash with citrus agrodolce, Sumo Citrus mountain cheesecake, and citrus sumac babka. More than 1M of you watched the video and we all had one question: “How do I get an invite?”

@ryannordheimer

@samueldonner took a similar, but different approach with his series, “Paying strangers to cook for me in New York.” He lucked out when he met a baker named Emi who created a Sumo Citrus-infused carrot cake that once earned her a job and has since brightened many a bad day. This time, it earned her $100, street cred, and an “only in New York City” story of a lifetime. (This Sumo Citrus Carrot Cake recipe is not Emi’s, but we promise it’s an enormously delicious substitute.)

Some of our more surprising new Sumo Citrus Super Fans this season were the alpacas of Peppergrass Ranch. In a viral video that reached more than 6M views and 1M likes, these endearing animals put their personalities on display as they tasted their first Sumo Citrus and “savored the flavor.” How do you know if an alpaca is enjoying the ultimate citrus experience? The “Sumo Shimmy,” of course.

Watch to see for yourself:

@peppergrassranch

Sumo orange was a hit for the alpacas! I’ve noticed with oranges they enjoy the experience and savor the flavor. Macaroni and Cheddar took their sweet time, as if their fans don’t have short attention spans 🤣🤣 #peppergrassranch #sumoorange #muckbang #asmr #alpaca @Sumo Citrus
