For the Sumo Citrus Glaze:

  • 3 tbsp. Sumo Citrus Juice
  • Zest of 1 Sumo Citrus
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla Extract

Instructions

For the Sweet Rolls:

  1. Combine the warm water and active dry yeast in the bowl of a stand mixer. Set aside for 10 minutes, until foamy.
  2. Add the Sumo Citrus zest, juice, sugar, salt, egg, and softened butter. Whisk for 1 minute to combine.
  3. Add 3 cups of flour to the bowl. Using the knead attachment, mix until a soft and pliable dough, about 5-6 minutes. Add the extra ½ cup of flour if the dough is still sticky.
  4. Cover and set aside in a warm environment for 1-2 hours, until doubled in size.
  5. Butter the edges of a 9x13” baking dish. Line the bottom with a sheet of parchment paper.
  6. Roll out the risen dough to a 10x15” rectangle.
  7. Evenly slather the softened butter over the dough.
  8. In a small bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon together. Sprinkle over the buttered dough.
  9. Roll up tightly, then use a serrate knife to slice into 12 rolls. Place in the prepared baking dish. Cover and set aside in a warm environment for 30 minutes to 1 hour, until doubled in size.
  10. Preheat oven to 375F.
  11. Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes, until lightly golden on top. Cool at least 10 minutes before adding the glaze.

For the Sumo Citrus Glaze:

  1. Combine all ingredients into a bowl. Drizzle over the warm sweet rolls.
  2. Garnish with extra Sumo Citrus zest to enjoy!
