Cardamom Syrup:
Start by making your Cardamom Syrup:
Gently crush green cardamom pods, using either a mortar and pestle or a rolling pin.
Add 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup water and 1 tsp crushed cardamom to a saucepan.
Place on stove over medium heat. Stir occasionally until sugar dissolves.
Remove from heat and allow to cool completely.
Strain into an airtight container and store in the refrigerator. Syrup should last up to a month.


To make a Sumo Citrus and Cardamom Old Fashioned:
Add freshly squeezed Sumo Citrus juice, whiskey, cardamom syrup and bitters to a mixing glass.
Add ice, then use a bar spoon to stir until chilled.
Add a large ice cube to a rocks glass. Strain drink over ice.
Garnish with a Sumo Citrus peel.
